Terms of Service
Last updated: May 10, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of Tooleras at tooleras.com. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
1. What Tooleras provides
Tooleras is a free website that provides developer tools, calculators, formatters, encoders, generators, and editorial articles. Most tools run entirely in your browser. Some tools and features depend on third-party services for parts of their functionality. The site is provided as a free public utility.
2. Acceptable use
You may use Tooleras for any lawful purpose. You agree not to:
- Use the site to violate any law, regulation, or third-party right
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or otherwise harm the site or its infrastructure
- Scrape, mirror, or republish substantial portions of the site without permission, except where permitted by automated agents respecting robots.txt
- Use the site to generate, host, distribute, or facilitate malware, phishing pages, or other harmful content
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, or data
- Use automated tools to submit data through forms or otherwise abuse interactive features
- Misrepresent your identity, especially in security-relevant tool contexts
- Reverse engineer, modify, or create derivative works of the site beyond what is permitted by applicable law
We may rate-limit, block, or disable access for any user or network that we reasonably believe is violating these terms or harming the service.
3. Tools, calculators, and outputs
Every tool on the site is provided as a utility, not as professional advice. You are responsible for the inputs you provide and for verifying outputs before relying on them in production, financial, legal, security, or other consequential contexts. See our Disclaimer for category-specific notes on finance, legal, security, and accessibility tools.
We do not store the data you process with client-side tools. We don't see it. Generated outputs, hashed values, encoded strings, and similar artifacts belong to you. You are responsible for keeping copies of anything you need to retain.
4. Intellectual property
The Tooleras name, branding, layout, original editorial articles, and tool implementations are owned by Tooleras and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may share links to the site and reference our work with attribution. You may not republish substantial portions of original articles or tool code without permission.
Tools that are wrappers around well-known open standards (RFCs, ISO specifications, web standards) describe and use those standards but do not claim ownership of them. Where third-party libraries are used internally, their licenses apply.
Anything you input into a client-side tool remains yours. Anything you submit through the contact form is governed by our Privacy Policy; you grant us permission to read and reply, but we don't use it for anything else.
5. Third-party content and links
The site includes links to external resources, references to third-party documentation, and embedded third-party services such as Google AdSense. We don't control external sites and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices. Links are provided for convenience and reference.
6. Advertising
We may display advertising on the site, including ads served by Google AdSense. Ads are clearly distinguishable from editorial content. The presence of an ad does not imply endorsement of the advertiser or the linked product. Your interaction with an ad is governed by the advertiser and the ad provider; see our Privacy Policy for details on how AdSense uses cookies and identifiers.
7. No warranty
Tooleras is provided "as is" and "as available," without any warranties, express or implied. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, free of harmful components, or fit for any particular purpose. Calculator outputs are estimates, not guarantees. Security tool outputs are reference utilities, not security audits. Editorial articles are written carefully but reflect a moment in time and a particular perspective.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Tooleras and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or any decisions made in reliance on outputs of the site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the site shall not exceed the amount you paid us to use the site in the twelve months before the claim, which for a free service is zero.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Tooleras harmless from any third-party claim, loss, or liability arising from your misuse of the site, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right in connection with the site.
10. Changes to the site
We may add, remove, or change tools, articles, or features at any time without notice. URLs may change as the site evolves; we try to redirect when reasonable but don't guarantee permanent availability of any specific URL. If a tool you depend on is changing meaningfully, we may post a note on its page or in the blog.
11. Changes to these terms
When these terms change, we update the date at the top and post the revised text at this URL. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of the page for a reasonable period.
12. Termination
You may stop using the site at any time. We may, at our discretion, restrict or terminate your access for any reason, including suspected violation of these terms.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the site operator is established, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence apply.
